Program Overview:

Today’s world is the fashion world. Each and everything is affected by fashion. Fashion Designing is one of the important professions today. This course was starting in 2006 as Add-on- course. With the changing times, the Graduate programme in the discipline was introduced in the year 2009, the educational institutions have taken the responsibility to train our young girls in fashion designing and developing entrepreneur skills for a future time. It is a theory and practical training course. Fashion Designing is a very interesting subject for girls. It is a job-oriented course & self-employment course. Department of fashion designing, every year organizes workshops, fashion shows, extension lectures, industrial visits and industrial training for students.

Objectives:

1-To impart knowledge about textile science, garment details, skill development in the field of fashion design.

2-To help the students to get knowledge of design, arts and elements of design.

3-To develop the skills of sketching, pattern making and garment construction.

4- Enable the students to understand the various department of apparel manufacturing technology.

5- To acquaint the students with different aspects of traditional embroideries.

6- To impart knowledge about computer-aided designing.

7- Students can be able to manage events like fashion shows, workshops and exhibitions.
